Nested well within the Helena national forest, our mountain cabin sits next to year round running creek overlooking our beautiful wooded 2 acre property.
This cabin is the perfect get-away if you are seeking relaxation and natural beauty. Enjoy beautiful views of the Helena National Forest and Trout Creek from the wrap around deck. Wake up to the sounds of a babbling brook and birds. Try your hand at fly fishing for brook trout, hike in the forest or enjoy a barbecue with the family on the large deck.
The cabin is perfect for family fun, a quiet getaway or a group gathering. This cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, high ceiling living room with wood burning woodstove and an updated fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops and two ovens. This cabin features beautiful windows looking out to the woods and new carpeting in the bedrooms for those chilly mornings. There are 2 queen beds downstairs and 1 full and 2 single beds are located in the loft. In addition, the couch can fold out for additional space. This cabin can very comfortably accommodate 8 to 10 people and lots of room for the kiddos and sleeping bags in the loft.
A short 5 minute drive from the friendly York bar, famous for their hamburgers, a fifteen minute drive to Lakeside for gas, use of the convenience store, or kayak and boat rentals on Hauser Lake. The drive to Yacht basin or Kim’s marina on Canyon Ferry Lake is about a 30 minute drive through the national forest.
In the spring, summer, and fall take advantage of the close proximity to the scenic trout creek canyon hiking trail. The area is perfect for hiking, biking and playing! This cabin is very close to the annual York 38 special bike race held in August. York fest is held in September to support the local fire department. Events start with a Firefighters Breakfast at 8:00 a.m., vendors in the park, garage sale, silent auction, family activities, duck race and much more. Don’t forget to buy your duck race tickets from the York bar! (You do not need to be present to win)
If you are interested in staying in, while on your vacation, take a book out on the deck or cuddle in front of the fire and relax.
Missouri River, Hauser Lake, and Canyon Ferry Lake are close by and offer fishing, boating, kayaking, sunning and general water fun. Horseback riding is available at the Star Ranch. Hike up Refrigerator Canyon, Trout Creek Canyon, Hanging Garden and the upper beaver creek and don’t forget to look for Mountain Goats! Explore and locate the Indian petroglyphs in the nearby gulches, Pan for sapphires, Fly fish for Browns and Bow’s on the un-dammed section of the Missouri River at the mouth of Beaver Creek. Fly fish on the upper Beaver Creek for Brook trout and marvel at the scenery. Pick chokecherries and apples in late August and make jams to take home to enjoy later. Visit the Archie Bray foundation for the ceramic arts. Explore downtown Helena.
